Three new filling systems for additives increase maximum output capacity by 40 percent

LIQUI MOLY is opening a new chapter at its headquarters in Ulm: The new machines increase the maximum output from 346,000 cans per week to up to 481,000. The new building to produce additives with three modern filling systems and additional office space will be officially opened on November 17 by the management in front of representatives from politics, business, the media and the employees.

LIQUI MOLY has invested 8 million euros in the newly opened additive production facility. Of this, 3.4 million euros was spent on the turnkey building. The costs for the three new filling systems amount to 3.1 million euros. Conveyor technology and packaging robots cost 1.4 million euros. These machines will be fully installed and commissioned in the course of next year. Additives help engines to burn cleanly, emit fewer pollutants and last longer. They are useful as a preventive measure or as a problem solver. LIQUI MOLY develops all additives in Ulm and manufactures them there.

Like the company's headquarters, the new building is also located in the Lehr district of Ulm. Founded in 1957 in the city center, the company relocated its headquarters to the north of Ulm in 1978. Rapid and steady growth and the resulting need for space led to this decision. Since then, all areas from development to production and administration have been based there.

LIQUI MOLY has developed from a small Ulm-based company into a global player whose products are available in 150 countries. Today, 408 people work at the company headquarters in Ulm. Worldwide there are 1093.

The expansion of additive production is a step of immense significance for LIQUI MOLY. In exceptional years, 18 million cans from 150 ml to 1 liter were filled with the existing machinery. In future, around 25 million units will be possible. The three new systems are more powerful and require less maintenance - the tools for further growth.
