Transmissions are among the most important components in vehicles. In order for them to function properly, they should be protected and maintained. The transmission fluids play a central role here. High-quality products are essential.

Gear oils are special lubricants used exclusively in vehicle transmissions. They play a decisive role in the durability and trouble-free functioning of the transmission.

Lubrication

The gear oil reduces friction between the moving parts of the transmission, thus minimizing wear and extending the service life of the components.

Cooling

The transmission generates heat during operation. The gear oil absorbs and dissipates this heat, preventing overheating and possible damage.

Cleaning

The oil binds dirt particles and metal abrasion caused by friction and wear. These particles are held in suspension by the oil and thus prevented from settling in the transmission. In transmissions with an oil filter, the impurities are removed from the oil, which keeps the transmission clean and efficient.

Sealing

The gear oil helps to lubricate and maintain the seals in the transmission, preventing dirt and water ingress as well as leakage of the gear oil.

Corrosion protection

The additives contained in the gear oil protect the metal parts from rusting, which can be caused by moisture and other influences.

Reduced noise levels

The lubrication of the transmission parts significantly reduces the noises that occur during operation, which leads to smoother running of the vehicle.

Why does the gear oil need to be changed?

Failure to change gear oils in time can cause problems. Contamination or abrasion particles that accumulate in the oil over time lead to increased wear of the gears. In addition, water can penetrate in the course of time, for example due to condensation or leaks. Gear oils can also lose their viscosity due to the high operating temperatures and constant stress. If the oil becomes too thin, it can no longer protect the gears sufficiently.

Only regular gear oil changes ensure reliable transmission function without shifting problems. In order to avoid problems with transmission fluids, it is also recommended to routinely check the oil level and oil quality. If there are any signs of contamination, viscosity loss or other abnormalities, the oil should be changed immediately.

Why is it important to use the right gear oil?

Different transmissions have different designs. This also leads to special requirements that a transmission fluid must meet. If an oil is used that does not attain the values required by the manufacturer and therefore does not meet the correct specifications or have the correct viscosity, it cannot fulfill its tasks optimally. When selecting the gear oil, it is therefore essential to observe the manufacturer’s approval for your vehicle.

However, the quality of the transmission fluid also plays an essential role. Only gear oils of high quality ensure that it performs optimally both during cold starts and at maximum operating temperatures. Using the wrong or inferior oil can affect the performance of the transmission and cause serious damage.

What distinguishes our gear oils?

Our modern gear oils are both of high quality and officially approved by many manufacturers. Often, they even exceed the manufacturer’s specifications. In addition to their quality, they are particularly distinguished by their specific formulation for different transmission types, such as manual transmissions, axle drives and differentials.

Our gear oils have been specially developed to prevent the prevailing problems and extend the service life of vehicle transmissions. They provide first-class lubrication for a wide range of vehicles. Their advanced formulations effectively reduce wear and ensure smooth operation, even under extreme conditions. In addition, they contain special additives that reduce gear wear to a minimum and thus maximize the efficiency of the transmission, whether in older or modern vehicles. They maintain their viscosity over a wide temperature range, which means they offer reliable protection in both cold and hot conditions. Thanks to their excellent aging resistance, our gear oils also need to be changed less often. The long change intervals save costs and protect the environment.

Which gear oil is right for your car?

With the proper care, compliance with change intervals and the correct gear oil, the transmission runs smoothly, quietly and reliably. Choosing a high-quality oil can also help prevent many transmission problems from occurring in the first place. This in turn ultimately extends the service life of the vehicle and avoids costly repairs.
