Conditioning and care of the vehicle paintwork

Scratches, dents and cracks in the paintwork or loss of color gloss impair the visual appearance and reduce the value of your vehicle. We show you how to optimally condition and care for the paintwork and preserve the result for the long term.

Preparation

Before you start the actual work step, i.e. conditioning the paint, you must thoroughly clean the affected areas of the bodywork. Car Wash Shampoo removes dirt without leaving any residue. This step is absolutely necessary because residues on the paint can lead to further damage, such as scratches, during the subsequent work steps.

Remove scratches

Usually, the body of a vehicle consists of a sheet-metal panel which is coated with a primer. The color and clear coat are then applied on top. A protective wax layer then provides the final seal.

Remove spot scratches

Very deep spot scratches that extend far into the clear coat layer can be compensated for with Grinding Paste 1500. Scratches that have only damaged the clear coat surface, on the other hand, with Scratch Remover 2000.

The numbering represents the grit size specification. The higher the number, the finer the abrasive effect.

Both products can be applied either with a polishing machine or by hand with a Hand Polishing Sponge, and residues can then be removed with a Microfiber Cloth.

Extensive scratches

If larger areas are affected by scratches, the affected areas should be treated with a polish that spreads well. Our Paint Cleaner 2500is suitable for this. The polish can be applied quickly and over a large area using a polishing sponge. This means that damage, weathering and rust can be reliably removed and the paint retains its original, glossy color depth.

Conditioning the paint

Aggressive environmental influences such as UV radiation, moisture or dust particles build up on the vehicle paint over time. Fading, loss of shine and reduced color depth can be unsightly consequences.

Paint protection for new cars

In order to preventively protect the paintwork of new vehicles up to the age of three years and to compensate for minimal wear marks on the surface, the vehicle can be treated with our Shine Polish. The deep gloss is restored, while a beading protective film ensures its durability despite rain and other environmental influences. This will ensure a beautiful paintwork appearance in the long term and ensure that your vehicle retains its value over the long term.

Paint conditioning for young used vehicles

If your vehicle is already between three and five years old, the paint generally shows significantly larger and more profound wear. The varying weather conditions cause the clear coat to age. This causes small cracks to form in the surface, which results in a loss of lustre. Our Polish & Wax is ideal for counteracting further wear and restoring the original condition. The paint is polished and sealed in a single operation, which preserves the results in the long term and prevents corrosion due to microcracks in the paint.

Final long-term protection

Our Hard and Protective Wax can be applied as a final step. The product forms an additional wax layer over the sealed paint, which provides enduring all-round protection when used regularly. The results achieved in this way are preserved and damage due to stone chipping or harmful environmental influences is reliably avoided over a long period.
